If it runs well, will spin it to around 6500 red line. I am running
simulations now to decide exactly which gear set I want. There are several
which are pretty near what I think I will need. I will mostly stay on the
short course so I need to accelerate rapidly and stay there fo the last mile.

What rpm are you going to try to turn the Ford. We ran a 3.00 in
August.....thought we could stand some more so went back in Oct. with a 2.78.
That was too much.....we could go as fast in 4th (1.07 on the Doug Nash) as in
5th. I found a 2.91 on Ebay we think that will be just right this year.

. Oh and I found a guy on Ebay that
says he has some used 2.47 9inch gears... search for "ford ring pinion". I
may
buy some from him, but that's is too low for my available hp.
