Dan: The author of the book, Ed Killar (KEE-ler), raced at Maxton two weeks
ago. It was his first lsr experience, and he was there because Jim Owen,
from here in Upper Michigan, had talked enough with Ed about the nitrous
system that Jim built --- that Ed decided to drive down and give it a run.
He's a long-time bike drag racer. Anyway, he drove his Kawasaki to a bunch
of runs in the upper 150s, and made one 180 pass on Jim's ZX12R.
I expect he'll be back for future races. By the way, his book is also
reviewed in the current Cycle World.
