Keith, ...stupid comment (by me) but doesn't the rings scrape the carbon off
to the top of the rings???

Curiosity has the best of me.... I was checking out the rings on the Pistons
out of the Cast Iron D Motor....( getting them ready to be zyglo'ed ) anyway
I noticed the Carbon only went down to the top of the first ring land....

To me that ment the Rings were Sealing well as there was No Carbon marks
anywhere Past the top of that ring land....

Is that a correct statement?

Keep in mind this is one of my first Non destructive tests ( well almost
less a piston )

any comments ?
