Just returned from B'ville. Totally awsome! Best Salt in a long time, they
say. Al Teague ran a 383 with his B motor, don't know if he ran after
qualifying. Met a lot of people, missed even more. Lots of excitement. As to
Keith, he'll tell you himself but he cooked a piston. Met the Nebulous
Theorum III people - they rebuilt their little, but very fast, liner at my
motel back door. Wonderful people! Ed Van Scoy broke his record one day, went
back and broke the new record next day. He comes to race, no if's ands or
buts about it. Just him and his wife, Linda, I believe. Not a lot of
wrenching, he changed one plug wirte. Saw so many cars that I lost count.
Talked to the owner of the pumpkin seed..got the complete history in about 30
minutes. SAw the Radon boys and chatted with them. Wonderful car! Well
constructed as anything I saw. HAd some teething problems but they kept at
it. One run I remember was 196 through the third mile. Met Mz Kathy and also
Keith's mom. Neat people. Ditto Dave Dahlgren. Dave knows his business. Met
both Jon and Joe Amo. Wow, what a dynamic duo! Joe took his bike apart in the
triler at the motel after munching something and put it all back together and
kept on running. Jon had more wires in that motel room than ma bell. I have
learned that this is a humbling sport. I thopught I knew a thing or two about
this sport..but you know what. I only know 10% of what I thought I knew. I
have to push my reset button and do a lot of rethinking...

In any case, a wonderful vacation. More later afdter reflecting some
