Heck, guys, reading the book of rules, it says that the hemi would fall in
XXF or XXO. It is under section II-1 Engines: Pretty clear to me.
"XO class consists of ovehead valve (OHV) and flathead inline engines, 1959
or earlier desig, up to 325 cubic inches displacement. Exmples include
Chevrolet, GMC, Hudson, Packard, and Buick sixes and straight eight
engines. Foreign engines are NOT included.
X class engines, as described above, which are over 325 cid, but under 375
cid, shall be classified as either XXF or XXO. Specialty cylinder heads are
NOT allowed in this instance."
There is no ambiguity here.
