to align with the fundamental tenets of the Kastner Cup set forth by o=
ur predecessors. </li><li>Road America was incredible to work with as a=
sanctioning body. They were flexible and supportive leading up to the=
event and through-out the weekend. This said, we did run into some ch=
allenges with this size of an event but Road America staff made note on seve=
ral occasions the professionalism of Kastner Cup participants. We all r=
eally represented Kas well here.</li><li>We worked hard at making sure b=
oth race entries and street Triumphs were accommodated, presented, and toget=
her in the paddock. With the number of overall race entries to the WIC, we w=
ere making adjustments in the weeks and days leading up to the event&n=
bsp; for street and race paddock parking. We really appreciated everyon=
e's flexibility in changes and approach.</li></ul><div>A peek behind th=
e scenes for just a moment:<br></div><ul><li> Grid position for the Kas=
tner Cup race was determined by the very seasoned and helpful timing and sco=
ring staff at Road America based on the qualifying sessions on Saturday.&nbs=
p; Not all cars participated in qualifying which resulted in the grid presen=
ted for Sunday's race. Good feedback from drivers and the Grand Marsha=
l proved very helpful and is an example of where RA staff were flexible in w=
orking with us. 3 trips to timing and scoring Sunday morning corrected=
the grid but didn't perfectly translate to false grid staff and runnin=
g order. For those racing participants on false-grid on Sunday, you ex=
perienced a bit of delay as we continued to work with the grid marshal to ma=
ke "most" of the corrections. Thanks for your patience and feedback.</=
li></ul><div><br></div><div>To add to Brian's comment, "it takes a village":=
<br></div><div><br></div><ul><li>Throught-out the past year, Grand Marshal, J=
oe Alexander, provided invaluable feedback and counsel to make this event ha=
ppen. The important relationship with Kas firmly sustains the future o=
f the Kastner Cup. </li><li>Curt. Your process oriented app=
roach we simply tried to build-upon your success. </li><li>2017 Kastner=
Cup Chairs: Brian Garcia and Jason Ostrowski. Their experience hostin=
g the 2017 Kastner Cup and connections with RA proved invaluable. We w=
ere able to leverage many of their ideas and efforts and for this event Bria=
n Garcia really laid the groundwork with RA to make it all happen. Man=
y meetings and phone calls. </li><li>The topic of the Kastner Cup grid f=
or Sunday is important as it is a great example of how well everyone wo=
rks together for the Kastner Cup event each year and this is where I really w=
ant to highlight <b>Henry Frye</b>. Henry was back in Connecticut=
working up spreadsheets for the running order. This was never asked o=
f Henry, not planned, but immensely valuable. We were able to take Hen=
ry's analysis to timing and scoring and make changes to the grid. &nbs=
p;So, thanks to Henry. Well played at an important moment. </li><=
li>Bob Johns and family: Your feedback is always on-point. Your a=
ttendance is very much a highlight of the Kastner Cup weekend. Thank-y=

an attest to the fact that this was no small event. With 500+ cars and=
thousands of spectators it is difficult for a group to stand out but we did=
. =46rom the cars on display at the welcome dinner, to the FOT members=
involved with and honored at the HOF induction, to the parade and concourse=
Friday night, and all weekend on the track you shined in the spotlight.&nbs=
p; I hope you enjoyed your time there. I can tell you first hand that w=
