As a point of reference, I checked some of my old results sheets, and I wa=
s turning laps in the 2:41s with an SCCA legal TR-4 with slick tires.=C2=A0=
This was 1989 - 1991, and I don't think the track has changed since then.

Also, I'm more concerned about chucking a rod or breaking the crank than ho=
w well I can pull out of any corner. So under 6k RPM is my rule of thumb.

Road America is a high-speed track. You won't get under 3:00 with a 4.10.=
You'll be out of revs half-way down most of the straights. a 3.70 or 3.45 =
would be better choices. Gear for 115+ on the front straight, the back stra=
ight and the Kink to Canada.
