Walter;
I asked the same question a few years ago for my TR4A. =C2=A0I was advised =
BY FOT that if I went with MaxSpeeding I should have a machine shop do a th=
orough check and re-machining=C2=A0as necessary. =C2=A0That work would more=
 or less cancel out any of the initial savings. There i also the question o=
f the small end bushing. Carillo uses an alloy that is much more robust tha=
n the stock bushing. =C2=A0Not sure about MaxSpeeding. =C2=A0So, considerin=
g how much I put into the rest of the engine, the cost difference was minim=
al. =C2=A0So for a full race engine I went Carillo. =C2=A0Carillo=C2=A0=3D =
peace of mind.=C2=A0
For a street engine MaxSpeeding are likely equal or better than stock, alth=
ough i recall that the width of the MaxSpeeding big ends was not as wide as=
 the stock rods - very similar to Carillo in that case.
Hope this helps.

I have built a few full race engines for my TR6 using MaxSpeeding connectin=
g rods with acceptable results. For my next build I am considering Carrillo=
 rods which run about $650 more than the MaxSpeeding rods.=20

Do and FOT members feel that the Carrillo rods are worth the extra bucks or=
 should I be happy with the MaxSpeeding considering the affordability?

Thanks,

Walter Hollowell
