You did well Tony.
I really don=E2=80=99t understand why people don=E2=80=99t lock their =
wheels when they spin.
If the wheels are rolling on a spin the car is doing funny things and =
nobody can predict where the car will be in a second.
With locked wheels the car is sliding in direction of inertia.
See how the F1 drivers do it. They lock the wheels and wait for the car =
to STAND STILL before they release the brakes.
=20
Most of the worst accidents happen with spinning cars getting T-boned.
The cause for this is no locked wheels until stand still.
=20
I don=E2=80=99t have good examples of myself as I spin rarely but maybe =
this one:
Cold Tires.
What I=E2=80=99m doing:
I was at slow speed with no grip on the back end caused by very low =
temperatures (36F) at the morning. =20
The back end stepped out and I slammed on the brakes. I saw the front =
heading for the tire wall.=20
I found it too expensive to crash the front end so still full on the =
brakes I released the clutch and gave a sever dip on the throttle with =
the heal to turn the car against the direction I was coming. Brakes =
still on full lock until the car stood still.=20
The situation was to a degree under control. Happily the car was =
parallel to the wall and didn=E2=80=99t touch by about 10=E2=80=9D =
distance.

If this is for a race car, you might consider shiming the accumulator =

=EF=BB=BF I was able to test my overdrive by chucking a 1/2=E2=80=9D =
electric drill on the input shaft and turning the whole transmission. =
(Make sure to spin the right direction!). Pretty sure I used 4th gear. =
I was able to determine that my OD pressure is at 350 psi, so =
I=E2=80=99ll have to shim the spring I guess.=20
=20
Secondary question; the OD seemed to stick on me, but I did not have a =

releasing as appropriate?

I have tested overdrives like this for years. My drive motor only spins =

forward speed. Therefore, I don't know what would happen if you spun it =

Merry Christmas
Quick Question
A friend of mine started testing his A-Type Overdrives by back spinning =
the output flange (to the prop shaft) with a pulley and electric motor.
I've seen this done by spinning the transmission INPUT shaft with a =
pulley and electric motor but not from the rear.
Any chance of damaging the overdrive since the overrunning clutch is =
only going to spin in the one direction, can it lock up the overdrive?
Thanks in advance
Glenn
