As someone else wrote, the O suffix always meant overdrive. However,
the
factory didn't always get it right. My 1973 Spitfire has and always
has had
OD, but the serial number doesn't reflect that.

this to FOT board please. I'm trying to find out if there is
any kind of
record as to the number of GT6's (71 specifically) that left the
factory with
an overdrive transmission and were they so noted in their serial
number (is
the "O" at end after the "L" designate "Overdrive")
