I am re forwarding this since it seems it was not sent due to size. Sorry if
this was sent twice.

> I thought I would chime in since I have been working on this for a few
years. A friend and I decided to write an application that would combine video
and data for analysis a few years back. We programmed it ourselves on nights
and weekends. When we were nearing completion we approached ChaseCam about a
partnership, and they were open to it, and so the product is now ChaseCam
DashWare. I only mention the way we started because it explains one of the
core features of the product - the ability to work with any camera and any
data logger. Since we did not know when we were developing the software, how
things would turn out, we made DashWare work with as wide a range as products
as possible.

camera. With the cameras by ChaseCam the data and video is auto synchronized,
otherwise the video is manually synchronized using the software. We are in the
process of making a new website for DashWare, and we are going to drastically
reduce the price, so if anyone is interested in purchasing DashWare send me an
email. We are also going to implement a FOT price break, so again if anyone is
interested send me an email.

different loggers - so I have some feedback. I will try and keep it unbiased.

that accelerometers are nice, and then the individual sensors like throttle
and brake. I think you get the best value by having other data to compare to.
So if a lot of people have one logger that you run with you might consider
getting the same logger, so you can compare your data vs theirs. Or
alternatively you can use DashWare to compare data from almost any logger.
>
> ChaseCam Data Module
> Pros:
> Auto syncs video with data
> Supports gps/rpm + one additional sensor.
> Has an optional OBD2 hookup
> Software (DashWare) is very easy to use.
> Camera automatically starts and stops recording
> Compact size
> Easy to hook up
> Build custom gauges (overlays that look like TR4 etc)
> Cons:
> Only works with ChaseCam cameras
> No Dash(Display)
> Can only set start finish in software
> TraqMate
> Pros:
> Supports gps/rpm
> Easy to use
> Cons:
> Only supports camcorders (which do not work well for recording racing
video)
> Must remove the dash from the car to plug it into usb port (kind of a pain
unscrewing it all)
> Does not seem as rugged as some other loggers
>
> RLC/ChaseCam Chase Commander:
> Pros:
> Very nice Dash
> easy to setup
> Depending on model expandable
> Supports gps/accelerometers/rpm
> Cons:
> Software is easy to use but too limited
>
> Racepak G2X:
> Pros:
> GPS/accelerometers/rpm
> Nice hardware - 5hz gps, very rugged
> Very expandable with large list of add on sensors
> Cons:
> Software is horrible. Even once you figure out how to use it, requires two
many steps before you see your data.
> Motec:
> The best system - can monitor anything.
> The software is complex, but phenomenal. Most pro teams use Motec.
> Cons:
> $$$$$ - it's really expensive
