Good Morning Henry,
I've been running the Holley Red's with Holley regulator for years with no
problems. I haven't any check valves reasoning that a failed pump would
provide
enough internal resistance as to not require a check. One pump seems to work
fine supporting a two liter six with triple Webers.
Even the Red pumps have considerably more capacity than our Triumphs require.
I wonder if your Blue pump is simply too large to adjust down to 3 PSI at
our flow rates?? I've heard the buzzing you describe on occasion, typically on
startup. As a rough guide I use 3-4 gallons in a twenty minute race.
