Yup, you you are right about the chassis....I crawled under my neighbor's
SP250 and couldnt believe my eyes. Since then, I have formed the opinion
that the first SP250s were made from modified TR3A chassis and then reverse
engineered into the chassis they had in production.
BTW, this SP250 could be purchased. It has problems with being stored outside
too long and neglected for too many years, but the owner is getting quite ill
and will become more anxious to sell at a resaonable dollar....it IS for
sale, but not actively.
If anyone is interested, I would help the process along. One FOT lister
examined it in more detail that I have and he might be willing to offer some
insight.
