Sounds like there is a wiring error. I'll bet that the wire from the output
of the alternator is not connected to the battery, but connected to the same
wire as the ignition coil, which would keep the car running with the key
off, but would work fine with the key on.

Sorry if this is second post never saw the first one.




Just put motor back in. It starts runs great but can't turn it off. Checked
all grounds and ignition switch all good. The wire to coil checks out good
itbs hot when key is on and grounded when key is off. But when car is
running you turn off key it says hot. Any help appreciated.
