[Roadsters] clutch question

In first gear, when I release the clutch pedal on my 70 2000, I will have my 
foot off the pedal, the car seems to be accelerating through mud. Once I get 
going it is pretty much ok from there. It is just slow getting "off the line". 

Does this mean the clutch is getting ready to go out?
