be done for a variety of reasons, including looks - who here hasn't changed
a single thing on their cars? Even the purists at least have modern tires on
their cars.

Perhaps, Marc, but the usual MO seems to be people taking perfectly 
serviceable OEM brakes, round-filing them, and replacing with [pick your 
poison], "in search of..."  what, exactly, I'm not certain.
As I mentioned to another list member, the funniest thing I've seen 
recently on the general topic of "my brakes are bigger than your brakes" 
was at a local car show, where in the "Ricer" pavilion, there was one 
guy who had "done" his calipers and hand-lettered that most impressive 
of braking brand names -- "Bimbo".....  Ouch.  I'm sure he meant, well, 
you know.
