280z Brake Master Cylinder help

Hi Everyone,
   
  I am installing a 280Z Brake master cylinder in my 69 2000.  I noticed the 
plunger from my original Brake Master is a little smaller.  Should I purchase a 
280z plunger ?
   
  Also ... I have 3 shims.  Do I install all 3 shims on the top of the master 
cylinder?  
   
  Any other advice?
