Picked up my first Roadster the summer of 1990 from a retired Datsun
mechanic. He had the car stored in a lot for many years. When he gave me the
keys to look at the car, he mentioned he was storing some "stuff" in the
car, including a foam mattress.

Well, I went out to the car and only took a cursory look. The inside of the
car was a mess with a lot of shredded/ripped up paper on the passenger foot
well and behind the passenger seat. It was so dirty, that I didn't even open
the car doors. However, one thing I mentally noted was the absence of the
foam mattress the owner was speaking about..

Without much conversation with the owner, I bought the car cheap and had it
dragged it home on a flatbed. A week later I started the restoration. When I
opened the car to start cleaning, the mystery of the foam mattress came to
light.

During the years of storage, Rats had invaded the car and EATEN the
mattress! Under all the paper shreads was a solid mess of RAT TURDS 1 inch
deep throughout the passenger floorboads. Between the mixture of turd and
the moisture that had seeped into the car/floorboards was an ultra
disgusting mess.

Nice find, huh?!?
