Thanks for all the replies. It will be de-plugged before machining and
thoroughly cleaned before reassembly.

This list has been extremely helpful with my rebuild questions. It will
probably be another couple months before it is finished (the engine) I'll
let you know how it turns out. Probably a question or two to come betwwen
now and then.
