This is how I did it:
Trans in 5th
E brake on
Wheel chocks on rear wheels
No problem!

To get the pulley of after the nut was removed, I used the long 6mm bolts
from the fan and threaded them through the holes in the pulley. I used a
couple pieces of steel to chushion the ends of the bolts to keep them from
digging into the timing cover. tighten the bolts to drive the pulley off.
