I recently had to pass smog in NV with my '69 2L with no smog devices &
Solex carbs & cam. It can be done.
Roadsters usually like to run a little on the 'fat' side. You could lean it
out a bit at idle to help pass smog.

I believe all roadsters do this, just condensation on startup.
