mobile1- synthetic oil

I just changed my oil in a '61 MGA to Mobile1, a synthetic oil
($4.50/qt !!)  I could tell an instant difference in that the
car had a quicker response to pushing the gas pedal.  It seems
to work great.  Is this a bad ide for any reason?
