if its a modern car, ive never had a problem leaving a car sit for
several months and dont think you will either. just disconnect the
battery so the alarm doesnt drain it.
if it has a carburetor, the gas can dry up and glue the needle valve
shut so it doesnt get gas. not a problem with fuel injection.
if you have pre-1960 tires on it, they can get flat spots.
the alternative can be more expensive: a friend of mine in about 2000
bought a brand new S4 TT. he left SF for russia and left the keys with
a friend to drive it around the block every couple of weeks because he
mistakenly thought it needed it. he got a call in russia- the car was
rolled 3 1/2 times and ended up 100 yards off the road in saratoga.
there were 4 people in the car and every window was blown out. he took
an $8K loss on it after 1 month of driving it.
