I clearly recall a Fresno chapter course with a pin turn from about four
years ago, and fuzzily recall an Oakland course with one. I found them
very challenging, since *I* had to make the decision on the best way to
wheel an ESP Camaro around. I don't see why a pin turn't a valid element
as long as there is enough course width to allow valid lines to be chosen.
What does that have to do with lining courses or gymkhanas?
Why can't we ever discuss a particular topic without lugging the entire
history of SFR into it? It's welcome to have a historical perspective
where relevant, but it's a hell of a burden to drag through every single
topic.

PS: ran my first LA event today. An unfortunate number of these guys
are good. The first half of the 70 second course was very technical and
visually challenging; DNFs all over the place. I enjoyed it immensely!
PPS: Spun the Miata in my second run ever in the car. I don't recall ever
spinning a Corvette...
