Vance-Did you use the seal puller with the pinion in place? If my memory is
functioning, it seems like the space is limited by the pinion. I have attempted
to use a seal hook and sliding hammer, but the thin metal of the seal gives
way before the seal comes out. Usually I resort to cutting a section of the
seal out with a screw driver, then prying out the remaining piece.
Jim-In reading between the lines of your original question, is the diff still
in place? I have never attempted to change a pinion seal with the diff in the
car and am curious as to if it is possible.
