I have the Haynes manual -- an old dirty one.
My question is from their statement on page 235 section 11 #13
"Install a differential plug to hold the differential side gear in
place. see illustrations 5.22a and 5.22b in chapter 7B" (It's really
chapter 7A if it confuses you -- it's a small error in the Haynes
manual).
In Chapter 7A figure 5.22b "....and tape the differential plug in place
to ensure they (the differential side gears) don't fall out -- if you
neglect this vital protective measure the side gears may fall out of
place, necessitating disassembly of the transaxle"
My question is: if the differential side gears come out so easily, is it
a problem when I remove the axle from the differential?
