The wiper system you see was originally set up on the Australian cars, from
about 1976 on, I think.

New Zealand kept assembling the 2000 / 2500 range until 1979, the last of
these being 'bitsas', ie. a bit from here, a bit from there, etc. It would
seem that the last cars built were 2500S's. All of 2500S's assembled in NZ
had the evaporative exhaust emission system from Australia, about half of
them had the wipers (which you will note has a pantograph mechanism to clear
more of the right hand side) and the very last sat around in the assembly
yard at Nelson for their power steering systems, which were apparently
sourced from South Africa I believe.

Hope that clears up the confusion...
