I just had the valves on my 76 TR6 adjusted. The car now sounds a little like an industrial strength sewing machine. Is this the normal sound of a properly adjusted TR6? There are no "abnormal" sound

I don't have a TR6, but I've had a lot of British cars over the years. What can happen is that the rocker arms can wear where they contact the valve and make an irregular surface. Adjustment is diffi

Same thing on a TR3... if you can't hear the valves you may be pretty sure they're set too tight. Geo Hahn 59 TR3A
