I believe they are 1/4" nominal ... the one I grabbed out of a Payen gasket set measures .247" with my cheap calipers. Don't know much about TR7s, but I know the folks using Webers say to use soft m

I suspect that means it was not nitrile rubber, which is required to resist 'modern' US gasoline. Fuel pump diaphragms have the same problem. You might consider just getting some nitrile from MMC or
