Sounds like your choke is operating correctly. If you can idle when warm without the choke, then you're OK. Have you tried to calibrate your temp system? I'm not sure how it could be done, I'd be in

Keep in mind that the published changeover points for TR4/4A carbs are by engine number, not by commission number. I don't have my notes and manuals here at work to check, but it's entirely possible
