- I fiddled with the battery leads & starter cable and my TR4 cranks a little better. But it still won't fire when I crank it. I'm getting lots of gas- plugs are wet and smell like it. The only clue I

- I would guess that the low tension lead is the problem. But you can also pull a plug & ground it, then crank the motor over to see if you are getting a spark. By all means, try the other coil, too.

- Hi Malcolm, I had a similar, if not same problem with my 250 several years ago. Took a lot of fiddling around, but finally found that when I turned the key to start, the power to the coil was turned

- It just takes a minute to check the coil to distributor spark wire. I had a problem there, had to spread the end a bit to get an adequate fit. Sounds like you have compression and fuel, just have to
