The reaction arm is number 53, External Engine diagram, in the Moss TR4 catalog. I suspect the purpose (or puppies) of the arm is to prevent the engine from rocking clockwise when accelerated hard. I

Looks like the folks from the list answered your questions. But did they know that there are at least two styles of that bracket out there? The one on our car has a 3/6 NF nut welded on the bracket
