Hi Brian, When I rebuilt my H6's, I was concerned about throttle shaft clearance too. I bought the kit and disassembled the carbs. Like you, I did notice that most of the wear was in the shafts. When

I think what you are seeing for shafts is the general shaft they send for all larger SU replacement shafts. The reason for them being long is that they need to be cut to length, since all SU applica
