- Actually ive had several cars painted at Maaco before and they do a very nice job IF you get the higher up packages...Their supreme and lower ones I wouldn't recommend, but the presidential and high

- Primer surfacer is a very tuff product, it will go over a lot of contaminents on surfaces that paint would not (such as bare metal), and when you are ready to apply paint, it will in some cases softe

- I would highly recommend any HVLP gun. Harbor Freight sells them for around $80.00. I just did my TR6 tub using this type of gun and it works wonderfully. I took me only a few practice runs on a spa

- The guy who did an outstanding job on my TR4 and who is a professional restorer uses one of the tools with wire whips on it, attached to an air source. He says it's kindest to the metal. Mike Blonde

- I used chemical stripping on the TR. It's an effective method. I lightly scratch the painted surface with 80 grit paper taking care not to touch the metal, apply a thick coat of stripper with a brush

- On my Spit, I had to get rid of some rust as well as paint, so I blasted the rusty parts and the painter I used removed the rest of the paint with a stripper similar to what Stu describes. That stuff
