I'm not commenting on the eBay tr6, or verifying the "authors" claims. I don't know about TR6 commission plates and am certainly not disputing anybody,s claims here...but just for the record...my ORI

I don't doubt that many dealers stamped those dates on, with the way they were titled and all. It is obvious from knowledgeable accounts that the factory did not follow this practice. Gary Gary Allgo

I am looking at a plate I took off a Spitfire 1500 that also has a manufacturing date (SEP. 1974) stamped onto it, and one from a GT6+ with APL 1-1968 as well as a later Spit one that is stamped DEC

Since everyone else is chiming in on this . .I will go ahead too. The plate on the door jamb of my TR6 is stamped Feb 1970 It looks original to me. (Although a little worse for wear) As for the issue

I suspect this varies according to the DMV (or whatever) employee actually writing the title. My Sports 6 title does not mention the STC 65 in any way, except to note "Year first sold" as 1/1/65. Bu

On my '70 TR6, the b-post, driver's side plate states Date of Manufacture: Feb '70 but my BMIHT Cert. states that the manufacture date is Jan 4, 1970 and the Dispatch Date as May 13, 1970. I'm sure J
