- My 1961 Morgan Plus 4 has a TR3 engine. The engine number is 8197. Does anyone know which gear reduction starter it takes, the early TR3 one or the later one? Thanks

- Heartily second this. When I restored my rusted '59 TR3A, it had sat for 27 years. I had the starter rebuilt, reinstalled it, and it didn't work. Turns out, someone had bought a new starter...a bull
