Roll the window up and then close the door. That is the normal mode of operation. Only Porsche would make a top where the window needs to be lowered before opening the door. Dave == This list support

The vertical strip (if it is a cloth top, it should also have a "bulb" of compressible material on top as well) and the tab at the bottom both go inside the door glass. They act as seals. Rick O. 72
