- I've got a '75 spitfire 1500, it has a problem with starting is it is up to operating temp. The starter turns the engine fine, but it fails to fire... Sometimes opening the points helps a little, but

- Hi Nick, thanks for the reply. My problem is no so much that the car dies in traffic, but that if you stop and turn off the car, ie when getting petrol, popping into shops or stalling, then if fails
