Sounds like it is held in place by corrosion since the cap is steel and the gear box extension is aluminum. A little penetrating oil and some time will go a long way. Be careful with the pipe wrench.

I don't know if there is any difference but I would be mildly surprised if there was any. But all the TR4 - 6 gauges require the use of a voltage stabilizer. Without it they will read high by about 1

If that's all you want try adding a small value resistor in series with the sensor. Start with a 47 Ohm 1/4 and see if you like that reading. Go up or down from there. Dave
