- No, this is down inside the frame rail. What Theo says makes sense. They are remnants of the transmission support that was used in the Alpine. ML

- As I remember from years ago there is an easy way to reattach the arms and a hard way. I think the easy way that uses much greater leverage was unbolting from the car rather than from the trunk lid.
