My guess is electrical. See if you can find a leak in one of the spark plug wires. Ground a long metal screwdriver to the block and then rub it along the spark plug wire and see if you get rough runn

I have some updated info. Today, the car gave up and conked out! The stuttering got worse, until nada. I stopped at the side of the road, and it wouldn't restart. I suppose I'm pleased that it isn't
