Hi everyone, I am currently rebuilding my rear suspension and am in the process of replacing the rear trunion bushings. My question is: are these nylon bushings lubricated either during the installat

Sorry, Guys. There is no such thing as a rear trunnion. They exist only at the lower end of the front uprights on certain Triumph automobiles. Clark

Sorry guy but technically you are incorrect. The nylon bushings that support the bolt that holds the vertical link in the Spitfire (and some other Triumph) rear suspension are called trunnion bushin

Sorry back to you. You will find reference to Rear Trunnion kits in the Rimmer's catalog (and probably elsewhere). Vicky Brit lists them as Rear Axle Seal Kits. Same shit...different pile. Vic W.

And WHY is it called a trunion ? It's actually an abbreviation for TriUmph Onion, 'cause they make you cry. I'd tell you about the McPherson strut too, but this is a family list. -- Reed Mideke rmide

Vic, I must agree with Glenn, the grease fittings front and rear do not provide any lubrication to the lower pivot bolts of the trunnions. IIRC, grease is to be packed inside the 'gap' between the ny

Trunions are the little besties that Cannons pivot on, so it's a very old word. They infact don't refere to the threaded bit on the front of the suspension, but the bit which nylon bush type thing.

Yes the trunnion lubrication is poor. There is a hole in the trunnion housing that feeds thru to the grease nipple. It is located right in the middle where the gap would be between the bushings. Not

OK, what's the difference between blue bushings in the rear trunnion kit (enough pieces to do both sides) and the gray bushings in the single-trunnion part? I messed up one of the bushings and all th
