I'll be installing a Weber DGV onto my 76 Spitfire in the next few weeks and I need some insight from those that have "ben there, dun that". I am aware that the positive crankcase pressure is not rel

I'm not sure why my high compression 1296 engine (9.0:1) doesn't have a problem, but I have the crankcase ventilation connecting to the top plate of my Weber DGV as designed and have no problems with

I thought the aftermarket aluminum style valve covers with breathers took care of this issue? Anyone using them? I'm not sure why my high compression 1296 engine (9.0:1) doesn't have a problem, but I

Jeff, I'm not sure if it is 1500 thing but I tried the setup last year and the oil came out the dip stick. I had to abandon the DGV then because the air filter was hitting the hood. I have replaced t

The aluminum valve cover has a similar outlet to the standard cover so I don't see how it would change things. In fact it may be worse. The aluminum cover does not have any baffle on the inside like

Just so I understand what's happening here... You say that when you connected the venting hose to the plastic angle connector that snaps to the underside of the air cleaner plate on the DGV, you get

Yup. I connect the hose from the valve cover to the plastic angle connector on the under side of the air filter. I used the same hose as the ZS and it has no blockage. Not much oil appears in the car

This may sound a bit silly, but do you think that the dipstick itself might be your real problem? Does it fit really tight except for when the engine is running? I guess my point is this: If you're n

Nope. The dip stick is fine. It works without leaks with the ZS carb because the positive crankcase pressure is relieved by the vacuum port on the ZS carb. Not so with the Weber. Vic W.

Jeff and all, The real problem in most cases is the 1500 was generally a closed breathing system and the air pump was an integral part of that system. So when it gets removed (as it generally does) y

I don't even suggest running the pipe to the carb! The fact of the matter is that the tube on the valve cover is not sufficient to relieve the built up pressure. So even if you could fit a vented bre
