I can't imagine that you'd be happy with it. It doesn't have Lucas electrics; the roof can't be slashed by vandals; the seats are too comfortable; the top speed is in excess of what you are used to;

Go to the library or the newsstand and pick up the January 2002 issue of Car & Driver Magazine - the annual "10 Best" issue. They picked the Focus as one of the "10 Best" cars, no small achievement.

Is the Focus the same car in the US and the UK? I looked on ford.com and it somehow looks different - but the same. And it seems the hatchback is sold as an option - rather than the main model. James

The UK and US Ford Focus are the same car - with minor differences to suit the markets. In the US hatchbacks are far less popular than saloons ('sedans') so it is the saloon that is sold mainly. I j
