- I took two pair of calipers apart. All were corroded to some extent. Two look usable, the corrosion is at the very bottom of the cylinder or at the top of the piston. I split the calipers so I could

- I believe that it is officially "not recommended" to split the calipers, which is why the o-ring between them is not included in the kits. Still, that hasn't stopped a number of Spit owners succcess

- Shame shame shame! You're not supposed to split the caliper, it's "against the rules". :-) Since it's brake fluid, I don't think it requires a special o-ring. So just find one that fits, soak it in b

- If you don't split the calipers, it's a real b** getting that cylinder hone in there. I have never had one leak when I reassembled it. If it's going to leak, it will be at the piston seal since it is

- I split mine because of a very badly siezed pair of pistons, and just re-used the 'o' ring when I reassembled them - this is about 15,000 miles ago. As for torque, I just tightened them up to "Ungh".
