- The Haynes manual says to use "brake grease" when re-installing rear wheel cylinders so they move freely in the back plates. Anybody got a trade name or chemical type for this stuff? Haven't seen an

- wheel name use Actually it is "Rubber Grease" and is compatible with Dot 3/4 brake fluid. Use it sparingly though, as it has the same problems as other grease if it gets on the pads/drums Wayne Burt

- You say that it is rubber grease and that it is compatible with DOT3 Fluid. Could this stuff be Glycerol? I do know it is used all the time as a water soluble lube in labs all the time.

- Bob Waid inquired about: Perhaps we're talking about two different applications here? There is a grease often supplied in Girling nee Lucas rebuild kits for packing the outer seal/dust cap and such.

- On my rebuild kits for my Clutch Slave Cylinder, and for my rear brakes, they both had grease packets with them, I assume this is rubber grease. 1. Do you mean to tell me that this is not compatible
