My local parts store suggested "copper grease".  This was located next to the
brake parts, and the packet listed suggested uses as including prevention of
brake-squeal, anti-corrossion, and high melting-point applications.  The stuff
is copper-coloured.  Has anyone else come across/used this for brake
applications?
