These are simple vents, they just vent into the atmosphere, good ol' UK emission control eh!!! :-) Nope, this was standard fit on all MkIV's and 1500's, it's a vacuum moulded(I think) bit of plastic

Dean, I'm pretty sure that UK spec cars(the fast ones!!! :-) everythings relative), had the fuel lines going to the carb's via the back of the engine, probably due to the pick up point for the fuel l

Aft'noon all, Try loosening the engine mounting nuts that fit to the front engine plate, these are on a slot so you may be able to push the engine back a little bit to compensate for the gap. Failing

I can't see that this would cause the problem! It could possibly be a warped wheel! Or....more likely a bent shaft, I've seen this a few times, jack the car up(securely), remove the wheel and start
