- Actually, Stainless is softer - no extra strength, just the opposite. Hardtop bolts are fine. Never use them for something like suspension though! Can't stand the shock. But, most grades of stainless

- No John, those hose hold the dashpot oil. They do not connect to the carb throats (unless the o-ring leaks) You have to put it down the carb throats (where the air goes in) I was thinking about this

- I've successfully used a DA with very fine sandpaper to remove the "glaze" or light rust many times. Use it sparingly and evenly. This is only if the flywheel does not have any "surface stress cracks
