When I put my rear spring back on, I see that the bottom leaf is thicker than the pocket that it goes into. This leaves a space between the top face of the differential and the bottom of the mounting

Put them in as a unit. When you lift them have them sitting with the back of the transmission the same high ,from the ground, as the bottom of the oil pan. This seems to make it easier to slip in. I

At the moment the Mk3 spring is sagging. Which ever one we put in will have to be fixed so it won't sag. Also the cost is a problem, I am in Canada. The dollar is not at a good rate and there is ship

I started the Spitfire today after replacing a head gasket. I am going to re-torque the head. Should that be done when the engine is still hot or do I do it after it cools down?

I don't know if it is a Kent chain, but I have a dual chain on my '78 Spit. I changed both gears, chain and the tenser. Used the old cover.
